Yale Gives Back and Secures Homes of the Future

Our commitment to safe homes and communities runs deep. But the fact is, not all families have the privilege of a home to call their own. That’s why Yale is proud to continue our partnership with Habitat for Humanity and celebrate the 30th anniversary of its Hartford chapter this year. Since it was founded in 1976, Habitat has provided aid to 22 million people and in 2018 alone, the organization helped more than 8.7 million and provided training and advocacy for an additional 2.2 million.

During the past 18 years, we’ve done our part to ensure that each family feels safe and secure in their new home by donating nearly 900,000 Yale locks to support Habitat for Humanity builds across the country. Being able to contribute to the inspiring work Habitat is doing has been such an honor.

On May 10, 2019, we’ll be extending our support and joining Habitat for Humanity for its upcoming Women Build event in Hartford — a day reflective of the organization’s mission to empower women to help families build strength, stability and independence. This event will bring women (and men) together for a day of construction, community and giving back. Our team will pick up hammers and power tools alongside a deserving family, and work together to build their new home.

We will also be making monetary donations to the cause, and would appreciate your support in this effort. Contributions to support Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build event can be made here — no amount is too small. Whether you donate $1, $10, $100, or just help us spread the word, we’re grateful for your support.

Track our event and help us spread Habitat for Humanity’s positive message with the hashtag #HabitatHartfordWB2019. More information on Habitat for Humanity and Women Build can be found here.

We appreciate your support of this worthy cause, and thank you for helping us bring hope to our communities.
