What is the EU Data Act?
The EU Data Act is a regulation designed to:
- Ensure users of connected products have fair access to the data generated by their use.
- Prevent unfair contract terms related to data access and sharing.
- Allow users to switch digital service providers without obstacles.
- Enable public authorities to access data in emergencies.

- No action is required unless a customer inquiry arises.
Impact on Yale
- Users must be able to access, request, or delete their data.
- Only requests from EU users with owner credentials will be accepted.
