  • How do I install or change the batteries within the Yale EN Fire Safe?

    Installing/changing the batteries

    • Turn the outer ring of the lock housing to the left approximately 20°, then pull it away from the base.
    • Snap a 9V alkaline battery onto the battery clip and push it back into place.
    • Place the outer ring back into place and turn it clockwise.
    • Make sure to change the Master Code if setting up for the first time.

  • What is the Master Code and User Code?

    The Safe is delivered with an activated Master Code (pre-set factory code 1-2-3-4-5-6). For security reasons you should change the Master Code immediately after putting the Safe into operation. The Yale EN Fire Safe Mastercode cannot be changed after initial set up.

    A secondary User Code can be added to the Yale EN Fire Safe. This code is in addition to the Master Code and can be changed if needed.

  • How do I change the Yale EN Fire Safe Mastercode from the default code?

    The Safe is delivered with an activated Master Code (pre-set factory code 1-2-3-4-5-6). For security reasons you should change the Master Code immediately after putting the Safe into operation.

    To change the Master Code:

    Always change the code when the Safe door is open and check several times before closing the door.

    1. Enter 0-0-0-0-0-0 (1 beep)
    2. Enter existing code (pre-set factory code 1-2-3-4-5-6) 1 Beep
    3. Enter new 6-digit code (1 beep)
    4. Repeat the new 6-digit code (2 beeps)

    Please note: A long beep means the code has not been accepted, try again.

    Important:

    • Make sure to remember the code or keep in a secure place. 
    • The Yale EN Fire Safe Mastercode cannot be changed after initial set up.
    • The Safe cannot be opened if the code is forgotten.
  • How do I add a User Code to the Yale EN Fire Safe?

    A secondary User Code can be added to the Yale EN Fire Safe. This code is in addition to the Master Code and can be changed if needed.

    To add a User Code to the Yale EN Fire Safe:

    1. Enter the master code and hold down the last digit (2 beeps)
      Please note: Three beeps means the code has not been accepted, try again.
    2. Press key '1' (1 Beep)
    3. Enter new 6-digit code (1 beep)
    4. Repeat the new 6-digit code (1 beep)

    Please note: A long beep means the code has not been accepted, try again.

  • Why does the EN Fire Safe flash and beep several times, when a code has been entered?

    This is the low battery warning. When a code has been entered and the Safes battery is low, the unit will flash and beep several times to warn you. Change the battery immediately when you receive this warning.
