Yale and Bosch Smart Home join forces to create a secure, all-around smart home and smart lock for enhanced convenience and security
Today, we are excited to join Bosch as a new member of its Smart Home system. With our contribution of the award-winning Linus® Smart Lock, Bosch is now able to offer all its users the option of smart access solutions for their homes. This provides many new and practical ways to integrate front doors into smart habits – offering consumers even more convenience and security in everyday life!
A smart guardian for the Bosch Smart Home
The integration of our Linus® Smart Lock into the Bosch Smart Home system enables the lock to interact with existing Bosch Smart Home devices, offering a wide variety of combinations in automations, scenarios, and services that make everyday life easier and provide additional security.
Once integrated into the Bosch Smart Home system, the Linus® Smart Lock will automatically activate the Bosch Smart Home alarm system when locked via a simple “if-then” automation. In addition to automations, locking the door can trigger Bosch Smart Home scenarios. For instance, the “leaving home” scenario, will cause multiple devices such as the Bosch Smart Home Plug or smart lighting solutions to be turned off.
For full peace of mind, timed actions can be used, automatically locking the door around bedtime and allowing users a safe and restful sleep. All while the Bosch Eyes outdoor camera keeps a sharp eye on all movement around the front door.
To ensure optimal operation between our Linus® Smart Lock, the Bosch Smart Home alarm system and outdoor Camera, the accompanying “Access Control” service will soon be integrated in the Bosch Smart Home App, enabling a seamless transition between checking who is at the front door and opening the lock, without having to switch between the apps. Virtual keys can be granted to facilitate easy access for cleaners, care staff or vacation guests via the Yale Access app.
Prerequisites & availability
Prerequisites for enjoying all the benefits of the Linus® Smart Lock are the Bosch Smart Home Controller, the Bosch Smart Home App, the Yale Access app for mobile devices, a compatible cylinder* and the Yale Connect Wi-Fi Bridge.
As the sales launch on 15th of October 2021, a corresponding bundle consisting of the Yale Linus® Smart Lock and a Yale Connect Wi-Fi Bridge will be available in Germany and Austria.
