Troubleshooting guide

  • My Lock is unresponsive or dead

The lock may have fully drained batteries. Replace all four AA alkaline batteries. If still unresponsive, apply a 9V battery to the emergency terminals at the bottom of the front panel to power up temporarily and unlock the door.

  • Bluetooth not connecting

Ensure the Yale BLE module is securely installed inside the lock. Restart your smartphone and the Yale Home App, enable Bluetooth and location permissions, and make sure you're within 3 meters of the lock.

  • Fingerprint not recognized

Clean the fingerprint sensor with a soft cloth. Re-register the fingerprint using the correct finger placement. Make sure your fingers are dry and not worn out or dirty.

  • PIN code not accepted

Double-check the entered code for accuracy. If the lock entered lockout mode due to multiple wrong attempts, wait 3–5 minutes before trying again. Re-register the PIN if necessary, using the Master PIN.

  • Push-Pull handle feels stuck

This may indicate a mechanical misalignment or obstruction. Ensure the latch is properly aligned with the strike plate. Remove any physical obstructions and recalibrate the lock if needed.

  • Beeping/flashing red

This signals a low battery. Replace all four AA batteries with fresh alkaline ones immediately to prevent lockout.

  • Auto-lock not working

Check that Auto Lock is. Ensure the door closes completely and the latch is fully engaged.

  • Lock won’t open despite correct credentials

Check for dead batteries or door misalignment. Try opening the door with the mechanical key. If the problem persists, please contact Yale Technical Support.

  • Unable to add users

You may have reached the maximum limit for fingerprints, PINs, or cards. Delete unused or inactive user entries to free up space.

  • Lock in Lockout Mode

After 5 consecutive failed access attempts, the lock enters lockout mode for security. Wait 3 to 5 minutes before trying again or use the mechanical key for immediate access.

  • Door won’t close or bolt won’t retract

Inspect the strike plate and frame alignment. Realign or adjust the strike plate to ensure smooth bolt movement.

  • Soft reset not working

Ensure you're holding the reset button (beneath the battery cover) for at least 10 seconds. Remove batteries for a minute and try again if reset fails initially.
