  • The Yale ByYou Pro comes with a reversible decorative handle, so it works whether your door is left-handed or right-handed.

  • To use Apple Home Key, you’ll need:

    • An iPhone® XS or later running iOS 15 or newer, or
    • An Apple Watch® Series 4 or later with watchOS 8 or newer.

    To control your lock remotely or automatically, you’ll also need a HomePod®, HomePod mini®, or Apple TV® set up as a home hub.
    Tip: Make sure your device and the Yale Home App are both running the latest software for the best experience

  • There is no limit to the number of ByYou Pro locks paired to one key tag.

  • Yes. Android users can control the lock through the Yale Home App.

  • We recommend the lock to be installed by a professional locksmith or by an advanced DIY.

  • The ByYou Pro lock can hold up to 99 key tags.

  • The ByYou Pro lock can hold up to 99 fingerprints.

  • Most cards can be programmed to the lock, such as compatible Mifare cards/tags. However, some cards may be restricted, and pairing is not possible

  • There are 4 access solutions, PIN code (4 to 10 digits), proximity key tag, fingertprint, and key override.

  • Yes. The lock can be paired to Yale Home when bluetooth registration is activated. 

     

  • In Normal mode, the user can register user codes, key tags, visitor codes, etc. In Advanced mode, the lock has the same functionalities as in Normal mode, but the user can additionally register the Yale Home module to utilise the Yale Home App

  • The lock has 2 lock modes, Automatic and Manual. The selection is done via a button on the inner body of the lock, inside the battery cover

  • Yes, it is built into the door handle. When enabled, the button on the inside handle must be depressed for the lever to unlock the door. To enable the Safe Handle feature, see Section 12 in the Owners Manual.

  • The Safe Handle feature is a child safe mechanism to prevented free egress

  • The ByYou Pro lock is powered with 4 alkaline batteries. When the battery is low, the lock will sound an alarm and display a signal on the keypad. If the batteries are completely flat, the lock can be powered using a 9V battery.

  • No, we recommend only using quality Alkaline batteries to avoid damage your lock.

  • Yes, an alarm will go off if anyone attempts to damage the lock or force the door open.

  • When Privacy Mode is ON, the keypad is disabled, and the door can only be opened from the outside by using the key.

  • After the door is locked you can do it by contacting and holding a registered key tag on the keypad for 5 seconds or entering the pin code and press the # button for 3 seconds. The ByYou Pro lock will sound 3 beeps to confirm that the Forced Lock Mode is ON. If the door is opened from inside or with the key, the alarm will sound

  • Yes, Yale can provide spare cylinders with keys. This is a straightforward replacement solution.

  • Yes, to factory reset your lock, refer to the ByYou Pro user guide.

  • No, the relock time of the ByYou Pro lock is set from factory and cannot be changed.

  • No, each cylinder has a unique key profile.

  • Yes, you can order key blanks and a take them to a locksmith to cut them.

  • No, the ByYou Pro lock is designed for residential entry doors. Not to be used where the internal escutcheon will be exposed to outdoor elements.

Troubleshooting

  • When you register the lock, it resets and only keeps the Master Code.
    You’ll need to re-add your user PINs, key tags, and fingerprints using the Yale Home App.

How-to Guide

  • There’s no extra module to install—everything you need is already built in.

    To get started, activate Bluetooth on your lock using your administrator code.

    Press the keypad buttons in the order below

    (Note: The "R" button is located on the back of the lock.)

    Then, just follow the setup steps in the Yale Home App to complete registration.

  • To remove the decorative plate, you’ll need a 2mm hex key (Allen key).
    Once that’s off, you can easily swap or adjust the lever to suit your style.

  • Start by registering your lock using the steps below.

    Press the keypad buttons in the order below:

    Once complete, your lock will enter pairing mode for 10 minutes—just enough time to connect it to your compatible iPhone® or Apple Watch® through the Yale Home App.
