Yale Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge Support

FAQ

  • The bridge supports up to 16 Yale Home smart devices allowing you to easily expand your Yale Home. Monitor the status of your home, lock or unlock and more using your Yale Home App from anywhere. The Yale Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge allows your Yale Home smart devices to work with Amazon Alexa, Hey Google and more.

  • Yale Connect Bridge supports wireless connectivity and smart home integration for one Yale smart device and is only compatible with 2.4GHz frequency. Yale Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge supports up to 16 Yale smart devices and works on both 2.4GHz & 5GHz frequencies.

  • Yale Connect Plus Wi-Fi bridge supports up to 16 Yale smart devices.

  • Increasing the amount of devices to the Yale Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge will not impact the response time.

  • Yale Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge supports 802.11b/g/n (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) Wi-Fi networks. The Yale Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge is generally compatible with Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 6 routers.

  • You can control your devices from anywhere using your smart phone, without being connected to or near to the router linked to the Yale Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge. When operating remotely, your smart phone will need to be connected to the internet.

  • Yale Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge should be installed within 9 meters of your Yale Home Smart device, but we recommend within 4.5 meters for optimal performance and reliability. In general, avoid steel frames, windows and internal walls made of brick, stone or concrete are preferred.

  • From left to right – LEDs shows Bluetooth signal status, Wi-Fi signal status and Power On/Off status. Each of these have Off/Solid/blinking status based on activities. Please look at the troubleshooting section* for more details on LED lights status.

  • Yale Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge do not come with a back-up power source. In the event of a power outage, you will only be able to access your devices over bluetooth. Remote access will not be available. .

  • In the event of an Internet outage, you will only be able to access your devices over bluetooth. Remote access will not be available. Once the Internet outage is restored, the devices will automatically repair to the Yale Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge.

  • When changing routers, firstly disconnect your devices from the Yale Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge and then factory reset the Yale Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge.
    The Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge will need to be repaired to the new router and devices re-linked.

How-to Guides

  • Scan the QR code of Yale Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge located underneath the device and follow the set-up guide within the Yale Home App. At the end of the set-up, you will be prompted to link any additional smart devices, if available. To pair a Yale smart device to the Yale Connect Plus Wi-Fi Bridge outside of the set-up process, go to the device settings and select "Connect to Wi-Fi" under utilities. 

  • When there is a new firmware update,  the firmware will update automatically. 

  • A hard reset returns the Yale Connect Plus Wi-Fi bridge to its factory settings. To perform a hard reset on your unit, leave the device plugged in and insert a simcard pin tool into reset the hole and hold for 10 seconds, then release. You should see a slow blinking green light, which indicates that the device is back in ‘set-up’ mode.

Troubleshooting

  •  

    1. Bluetooth Connection

    • Solid GREEN LED = At least one bluetooth device is connected
    • Fast flash GREEN LED = Pairing to bluetooth device
    • No LED = There are no bluetooth devices connected.

    2. Wi-Fi Connection

    • Solid GREEN LED = Wi-Fi is connected to Yale Home.
    • Slow flash GREEN LED = Wi-Fi is connecting 
    • Fast flash GREEN LED = Firmware update is in progress
    • Solid RED LED = Connection to Wi-Fi has failed or is down. 

    3. Power

    • Solid GREEN LED = Device has power
    • No LED = Device does not have power
