How does a Yale Wi-Fi Bridge work?
Yale Wi-Fi Bridges plug into any power outlet near your Yale Smart Lock and uses your home's Wi-Fi and Internet connection to control your Yale Smart Lock. With a Yale Wi-Fi Bridge, you can unlock or lock your door for guests, check your lock's status and receive instant notifications from anywhere through the Yale Home App.
How many Yale Smart Locks can one Yale Wi-Fi Bridge device control?
This is dependent on the model of Yale Wi-Fi bridge that you have:
- The Yale Connect Wi-Fi bridge allows one smart lock to be controlled and connected at a time
- The Yale ConnectX allows up to 4 smart locks to be controlled and connected at a time.
How to identify which Yale Wi-Fi Bridge you have
The difference between the Yale Connect Wi-Fi Bridge and the Yale ConnectX Wi-Fi Bridge can be found on the plug side of the device. The product name will show as:
- Yale Connect
- Yale ConnectX
Setting up the Yale ConnectX for the first time
- If you have not previously setup the Yale ConnectX Wi-Fi bridge, from Yale Home App dashboard - select set the top right + option, to begin setup.
- Scan the back of the ConnectX with the QR scanner when prompted.
- Follow the setup steps in the Yale Home app.
- Your lock should now be successfully paired to the Yale ConnectX Wi-Fi bridge.
Pairing your ConnectX to additional locks in your house
- If you have already setup the Yale ConnectX with a Yale Smart Lock and want to pair more devices to it, select the device you wish to pair from your Yale Home App dashboard.
- Select the top right Settings icon.
- Scroll down to Utilities and select Connect to Wi-Fi network.
- Select Connect to an existing bridge.
- The ConnectX serial number will be shown on the screen. Select the serial number of the ConnectX that you want to pair your device to.
- Press continue, the ConnectX should now be successfully configured to the Yale Smart lock.

How Do I Access My Yale Lock Remotely?
The Yale Home App will seamlessly connect over the best method available, choosing between Bluetooth and Wi-Fi automatically. Simply open the app and navigate to your lock screen and the Yale Home App will do the rest for you.
The icon in the upper right of the lock screen indicates how you are currently connected to your lock.
Can I add a Yale Wi-Fi Bridge to a Lock after the lock is already set up?
Yes. Yale Wi-Fi Bridges requires an active compatible Yale Smart Lock for initial setup. If you have been accessing your Yale Smart Lock via Bluetooth only and would like to access it from a remote location, you will need to add a Yale Wi-Fi Bridge.
What types of Wi-Fi networks do Yale Wi-Fi Bridges support?
Yale Wi-Fi Bridges support 802.11b/g/n (2.4 GHz) Wi-Fi networks.
How close does my Yale Wi-Fi Bridge need to be to my Yale Smart Lock for optimum performance?
This is dependent on the model of Yale Wi-Fi bridge that you have:
- The Yale Connect Wi-Fi bridge works optimal within 4 meters of your Yale Smart Lock
- The Yale ConnectX Wi-Fi bridge works optimal within 10 meters of your Yale Smart Lock
Optimal performance and reliability is always depending multiple factors such as obstacles blocking the frequency and different communication signals in the house.
What power range do Yale Wi-Fi Bridges support?
