1. Optimizing the viewing angle and adjusting the motion detection sensitivity to find an appropriate detection distance can significantly improve the battery life
2 Set detection zones to minimize unnecessary detection notifications.
3. We recommend a mounting height of 2.2 – 3.0 meters from the ground.
4. Adjust the camera level for best motion detection

5. The most sensitive area for movement detection in the camera is in the lower half of its view. If you angle the camera down, you can avoid detection notifications that are triggered from a distance. This is very useful if you have a busy street in front of the camera
6. The Yale Smart Outdoor Camera uses a PIR motion sensor to detect movement and when you enter the Motion Detection Sensitivity settings in the Yale Home application, the camera will go into a test mode which gives you sensitivity feedback with help of the LED indicator on the camera. The detection range will change from approximately 3 meters to more than 8 meters depending on the setting you choose.
7. For optimal performance, you might need to fine-tune the motion sensitivity settings through the year when the environmental temperature changes
