You can share access to your Cabinet Lock to an unlimited number of people.

Technically, there is no limit to the number of properties on one Yale Home Account. If you have multiple properties, you can create houses for all of them in your Yale Home App. Each property added will extend the list of houses in your app and you will need to scroll to access them. Similarly, there is no limit to the number of devices that you can add to a property.

Yes, there is an intergrated sensor that detects if the Cabinet Lock is in an open or closed/locked status. The status will appear in the Yale Home application. 

The Cabinet Lock is designed to operate for approximately 12 months on a full battery with regular use. When the battery level falls low, the lock will alert you with a series of beeps, and the Yale Home App will send a notification.

To maintain uninterrupted access, please replace the batteries as soon as you receive a low battery alert.

Remove the cabinet lock from the mounting bracket. Open the battery compartment door and remove the existing battery and then replace with a new battery. Once the new battery is installed, close the battery compartment door and re-mount.

If the batteries reach a critically low level and are not replaced, the Smart Cabinet Lock will automatically unlock as a safety feature. This setting can be disabled in the Yale Home App.

If you choose to disable this feature and the batteries die, you will need to forcibly open the cabinet door to release the post from the lock body. The lock is designed so that the post will break away under a certain amount of force.

In case the post breaks, don’t worry—we’ve included a spare post for your convenience.

The automatic re-lock feature is turned on by default. This means every time you close your cabinet/drawer, it will lock. You can turn this feature off from the Yale Home App in "Lock Settings".

Note, if you turn this feature off, the only way to lock the cabinet lock will be from the Yale Home App.

By default, Yale Smart Locks make sounds when locking and unlocking. It is easy to modify these settings by following the steps below:

1. Open the Yale Home App.
2. Select your lock and then tap the gear icon in the top right of the screen to get to Lock Settings.
3. Scroll to Device Settings and select.
4. From here you can adjust the lock sounds to your preference. 

The button on the top of the cabinet lock glows in the dark and unlocks the cabinet lock when pressed. This can be used as an emergency escape, in case a small child locks themselves inside a cabinet.

There is a small black button on the underside of the Smart Cabinet Lock. This button is often mistaken for a lock reset button which is not the case. This button is actually used for deleting the Homekit integration if one has been set up.

To reset the Homekit integration press and hold the small black button for 5 seconds, if the procedure was executed correctly, you will see the button on the top of the lock flash red with a series of bleeps, the lock will then reboot.

If you have an Apple Watch and a Yale Smart Lock connected to the Yale Home app, you can use your Apple Watch to operate the device.

Firstly, ensure that you have installed the Yale Home app on your Apple Watch. You can do this using the "Watch" app on your iPhone.

Open the Yale Home app on your Apple Watch. Tap the green lock circle to unlock the door. With compatible locks you can also tap the red lock circle to lock.
