Warranty Terms & Conditions
Warranty Period
The warranty period applicable to your Yale Smart Lock is determined by the original date of purchase, as follows:

| Purchased from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2025 | 2-Year Warranty against original defects in materials and workmanship, plus an additional 1-Year Limited Extended Warranty covering parts only (2+1 Warranty). |
| Purchased on or after 1 January 2026 | 3-Year Warranty against original defects in materials and workmanship, plus an additional 1-Year Limited Extended Warranty covering parts only (3+1 Warranty). |
The warranty applies only to products used for normal private residential purposes and installed, operated, and maintained in accordance with the Yale Product Installation and User Manual.
The Limited Extended Warranty covers parts only. Labour charges, transportation costs, and any other service-related fees incurred during the extended warranty period are not covered.
For service requests that are not covered under warranty, onsite labour charges will apply as follows:
- RM150 per onsite visit within the Klang Valley.
- RM300 per onsite visit for locations outside the Klang Valley.
This warranty is valid only for products purchased from official Yale Smart Shops or authorised Yale dealers in Malaysia and is non-transferable.
It Is subject to the adherence of the requirements outlined in this instruction manual, and is subject to further conditions outlined below.
How to register the warranty?
In order to validate the warranty, you are required to register your purchased item in the Yale official website (yalehome.com/my/en/warranty-registration).
Failure to register your product within 30 days after purchase date or Vacant Posession Date for home buyer that comes with Yale lock will diminish your warranty rights.
What is covered in the warranty?
This warranty provides, at no extra cost to you, all labour and parts necessary to ensure your lock is in proper operating condition during the warranty period.
This warranty will only be valid if the lock is used in the country in which it was sold.
For quality-related warranty claims, items will be replaced with a factory refurbished model of equal value when available, otherwise a new item will be sent. Please be informed that all dispute requests will go through factory or supplier, and the judgement outcome or decision is final and non-appealable.
Any replaced defective parts will become the property of Yale.
Service under this warranty will not extend the period of this warranty.
What is not covered in the warranty?
Yale shall not be liable for costs, damages or repairs incurred as a result of:
- Lock purchased from an unauthorized dealer.
- Careless operation or handling, misuse, abuse and/or lack of maintenance or use not in accordance with the Product Installation and User Manual.
- Malfunctions or damage resulting natural disaster, fires, civil unrest and/or accidents
- Defects cause by misuse, physical damage, abnormal operation or handling, negligence and/or any unauthorized tampering/alterations/repairs by any other than ASSA ABLOY Malaysia
- Use of parts not in accordance with the Product Installation and User Manual.
- Repairs or alterations carried out by unauthorized parties or agents.
- Battery leakage (even when the original battery is used)
- Misplace of the Master pin-code
- Door Alignment issue and improper usage of lock
- Cosmetic defects after installation of the lock
- Reduction in battery usage time due to battery age or use.
- At point of assessment, should an item be deemed as defective due to misuse or wear and tear instead of manufacturing, the cost of material components and replacement parts, with all labour charges and transportation costs (if any) to be covered by the customer.
- The cost of material components and replacement parts, with all labour charges and transportation costs (if any) to be covered by the customer should there be manufacturing defects detected after warranty period.
Warranty Limitation
Warranty coverage applies to the original owner only and is not transferable.
This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights which vary by region.
Manufacturer’s warranties may not apply in all cases, depending on factors such as use of the product, where the product was purchased, or who you purchased the product from. Please review the warranty carefully, and contact the manufacturer if you have any questions.
Enforcement of Warranty
Warranty Claims Process
Yale shall establish and maintain a clear, accessible process for handling warranty claims. This process shall include the following steps:
1. Claim Submission
The Purchaser must submit any warranty claim in writing to info.my@assaabloy.com along with proof of purchase and a detailed description of the defect within the warranty period.
2. Acknowledgment of Claim
Yale shall acknowledge receipt of the warranty claim within 14 business days of receiving the claim.
3. Inspection and Assessment
Yale shall inspect and assess the defective goods within 14 business days of acknowledging the warranty claim, and determine whether the defect is covered under the terms of this Warranty.
4. Resolution
Upon determining that the defect is covered by the Warranty, Yale shall repair or replace the defective goods, or provide a refund at the Yale's discretion, within 30 business days of completing the inspection and assessment.
Failure to Honor Warranty Claims
Yale acknowledges that failure to honor a valid warranty claim may result in legal action by the Purchaser or enforcement action by the relevant authorities, including, but not limited to, the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia. Yale shall make all reasonable efforts to resolve warranty claims promptly and fairly to avoid such actions.
Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute regarding a warranty claim that cannot be resolved through negotiation, the Purchaser may lodge a complaint with the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia. Yale acknowledges that this Tribunal provides a forum for resolving disputes between consumers and suppliers in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Yale agrees to comply with any decisions or orders made by the Tribunal.
Compliance with Malaysian Law
Yale shall ensure that all warranty terms and the enforcement process comply with the Consumer Protection Act 1999 and other applicable Malaysian laws. Any provision of this Warranty that is found to be inconsistent with Malaysian law shall be deemed modified to the extent necessary to comply with such law, and the remainder of the Warranty shall continue in full force and effect.
