Getting Started with Yale Wi-Fi Bridges

Yale Wi-Fi Bridges are an accessory that seamlessly combines with a Yale Home compatible Smart Lock to offer an intelligent, secure way to lock or unlock your door when you're away from home.

Yale Connect Bridge

Yale Wi-Fi Bridges plug into any power outlet near your Yale Smart Lock and uses your home's Wi-Fi and Internet connection to control your Yale Smart Lock. With a Yale Wi-Fi Bridge, you can unlock or lock your door for guests, check your lock's status and receive instant notifications from anywhere through the Yale Home App.

This is dependent on the model of Yale Wi-Fi bridge that you have:

• The Yale Connect Wi-Fi bridge allows one smart lock to be controlled and connected at a time
• The Yale ConnectX allows up to 4 smart locks to be controlled and connected at a time.

Setting up the Yale ConnectX for the first time  

1. If you have not previously setup the Yale ConnectX Wi-Fi bridge, from Yale Home App dashboard - select set the top right + option, to begin setup.
2. Scan the back of the ConnectX with the QR scanner when prompted.
3. Follow the setup steps in the Yale Home app.
4. Your lock should now be successfully paired to the Yale ConnectX Wi-Fi bridge. 

Pairing your ConnectX to additional locks in your house

1. If you have already setup the Yale ConnectX with a Yale Smart Lock and want to pair more devices to it, select the device you wish to pair from your Yale Home App dashboard.
2. Select the top right Settings icon.
3. Scroll down to Utilities and select Connect to Wi-Fi network.
4. Select Connect to an existing bridge.
5. The ConnectX serial number will be shown on the screen. Select the serial number of the ConnectX that you want to pair your device to.
6. Press continue, the ConnectX should now be successfully configured to the Yale Smart lock.

If your Yale Smart Lock is already paired to a Yale Connect Wi-Fi Bridge and you want to pair it to a Yale ConnectX instead, you must first unpair the Yale Connect Wi-Fi Bridge.

1. Open the Yale Home app and select All Devices.
2. Select the Wi-Fi Bridge that you want to disconnect.
3. Scroll down to Utilities and select Disconnect Device.
4. Follow the steps to disconnect the Wi-Fi Bridge.
5. Once the original Yale Connect Wi-Fi bridge is removed, from the Yale Home dashboard select the lock that you wish to pair the ConnectX to.
6. Select the top right Settings option.
7. Scroll down to Utilities and select Connect to Wi-Fi network.
8. Click Connect to an Existing Bridge, or Set up a New Wi-Fi Bridge- if the Yale ConnectX has not already been setup.
9. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the setup.

The difference between the Yale Connect Wi-Fi Bridge and the Yale ConnectX Wi-Fi Bridge can be found on the plug side of the device. The product name will show as:

• Yale ConnectX
