  • What type of batteries does the Yale Smart Safe use?

    The Yale Smart Safe uses 4xAA Alkaline batteries which are included in the box. The batteries will last approximatly twelve months. It is a advised to change the batteries after twelve months to prevent the risk of the batteries leaking into the battery compartment. 

  • How do I turn the sounds on/off?

    Via the Yale Access App, while connected to the Smart Safe, go to Settings > lock settings > Adjust device Voice > Off/High

  • How many people can I share access to the Yale Smart Safe with?

    There is a maximum number of 25 Yale Access app users that  can have access to the Safe at the same time.​

  • I do not receive notifications from the Yale Access app, why?

    In order to receive notifications for your Yale Smart Safe, you must have the Yale Access Wi-Fi bridge set up with your Safe and Yale Access app.

  • How is the communication between the Yale Smart Safe and the phone secured?

    The Yale Access app and the Yale Smart Safe use multiple levels  of encryption technologies to ensure the security of the wireless  communication.

  • In order to receive notifications for your Smart Safe, you must  have the Yale Access Wi-Fi bridge set up with your Yale Access app.

  • Yes, as long as you have purchased the Yale Wi-Fi Connect Bridge, you can use your Smart Safe with Google Assistant and Alexa.

  • No, The Yale Smart Safe is not  fire or water rated.

  • Replacement keys can be ordered via customer service or tech support. You will be required to provide some security information and the number for your key. The key number is located on the underside of the keypad, look for a 6-digit code that starts with the letter  'H' . ​

  • Yes, you can use Apple HomeKit with the Yale Smart Safe.
