Everyday Use with the Yale Smart Safe

Remote operation outside of Bluetooth range will require a Yale Connect Bridge.

Via the Yale Access App, while connected to the Yale Smart Safe, go to Settings > lock settings > Adjust device Voice > Off/High

If you have a HomeKit-enabled Smart Safe, adding a new Owner and giving them HomeKit access can be done at the same time. Watch the video below for a brief overview of the process.

PLEASE NOTE: The invited HomeKit user must also be an Owner of the Yale Smart Safe in the Yale Access App and they must accept the HomeKit invite from the Home App. Then, they must access the Yale Smart Safe over Bluetooth with the Yale Access App 2-3 times to finalize the HomeKit invite.

The invited HomeKit user should be able to connect to the Yale Smart Safe over HomeKit following the steps below:

1. Accept the HomeKit invite inside the Home App
2. Once the invite has been accepted, open the Yale Access App and connect to the Yale Smart Safe over Bluetooth

If they cannot connect to the Yale Smart Safe using the Home App, they need to repeat step 2.

This article provides steps to remove a Safe from your Yale Access account. PLEASE NOTE: Your status as either Owner or a Guest, determines the best method for removing the device from your account.

 Owners

1. Open the Yale Access App
2. Select the house the Safe is associated with from your Keychain
3. Go to House Settings (Gear icon in the app)
4. Select the lock/Safe you wish to remove 
5. Select Factory reset (All current users will lose access to the device)

Guests

If you are a Guest on a Safe and you want to remove the device from your account:

1. Open the Yale Access App
2. Select the Safe from your Keychain
3. Go to the Guest List
4. Select REMOVE SELF
5. You will be prompted to verify that you would like to remove the user, in this case yourself, from the device.
   

If you experience issues removing yourself from the lock, contact Customer Support.

If you have an Apple Watch and a Yale Smart Access product used with Wi-Fi and the Yale Access app, you can use your Apple Watch to lock and unlock. Open the Yale Access App on the device. Tap the green lock circle to unlock the door. Conversely, tap the red lock circle to lock it again.

PLEASE NOTE: The Yale Access Apple Watch App is available to Lock Owners only. Auto-Unlock does not work with Apple Watch. Remote operations are not possible.
